Computer lab directions for the "Discovering Art" CD-ROM
Bring your student ID and, if you have it, bring along the CD-ROM from your textbook.
If you do not have your own CD-ROM, wait for the instructor to set up your computer.
If you do have the CD, you can get started on your own:
Open CD/DVD drive (press top-right key on keyboard, or button on drive door).
Insert CD in drive, close drive.
Double-click startup drive icon (the one labeled ACG-some number-X). Double-click Discovering Art folder icon. Double-click Discovering Art program icon.
When the Welcome screen appears, click on the "Established Member" tab, then click on the ticket icon.
In the "Open Saved Work" list, double-click the drive icon ACG-some number-X. Double-click Discovering Art folder icon. Double-click UsersProgress folder icon. Find the file with your name and double-click on it. If you can't find your file, click Cancel, then click the "New Visitor" tab, then fill in your information.
Enter your password, and proceed to the assigned activity.
For video demonstrations, adjust the volume so as not to interfere with the work of others in the lab. Better yet, bring headphones.
The volume control can be accessed thru the loudspeaker icon in the menu bar (top-right corner of the screen). Some keyboards have volume controls with similar icons.
